About Northern Virginia Second Chance (NVSC)

Northern Virginia Second Chance (NVSC), an all volunteer, non-profit organization (tax exempt # 51-0214114), was created in 2003 as a ministry of Reston Bible Church and seeks to make a profound difference in the lives of those residing in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. NVSC has no paid staff and no overhead. The cornerstone event for NVSC is the annual golf tournament at one fo the area's premiere golf courses. Honoring Our Wounded Warriors

NVSC is proud to be supporting the wounded veterans returning from Iraq, Afghanistan and other conflicts. We serve these heroes by providing funds to aid in their recuperation and/or reassimilation into routine life activities between their initial rehabilitation while on active duty and their eventual transition to civilian life. We seek to fulfill this purpose through the rendering of financial support for unique and specific programs for the wounded and their families during a critical time.

Northern Virginia Second Chance supports the wounded warriors exclusively through The Aleethia Foundation (www.aleethia.org).  Also a small non-profit with no paid staff and no overhead, The Aleethia Foundation is dedicated to helping the wounded troops. Because the doctors caring for our wounded warriors have determined that it is beneficial for them to get out of the hospital environment occasionally, Northern Virginia Second Chance provides funds to help these men and women enjoy breaks from the routine of an extended hospital stay. Included in these events are the famous Friday Night Dinners started in 2003 that continue today.  In the process of providing the dinners, it was discovered that some of the troops were in need of small financial grants to bridge different financial situations. The Aleethia Foundation then expanded its mission to providing as many of these small grants as possible.  Beyond the Friday dinners, our injured heroes are also supported through site-seeing drives, trips to movies, and smaller dinner events.
